Lighthouse

I have chosen this lighthouse as the icon for this blog (inspired by the Cape Lookout Lighthouse in North Carolina) as it represents a history that is older than the search engines and Internet itself and it still serves as a direction for us when we are on deep water. It also has a fantastic way of reflecting light back at us that can be very valuable to find our direction.

This very lighthouse is also unique because the diamond pattern indicates compass direction. When the sailors saw a black lighthouse with a white diamond pattern, that meant the ship was sailing east or west. However, when the sailors saw a white lighthouse with a black diamond, that meant the ship was sailing south or north. To me this indicates creative standards and room for interpretation.
